At Hannah Pet Hospital, every Team Member has a story, and Dr. Armando’s is one of determination, lifelong learning, and an unwavering commitment to helping animals.
Recently, Dr. Armando achieved one of the proudest milestones of his career by earning his license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States. While this accomplishment opens new professional opportunities, for him it represents something much deeper.
“It represents years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.”
Balancing a full-time job while studying for the rigorous licensing exams wasn’t easy. For years, he devoted countless hours to preparing, often sacrificing his free time to stay focused on his goal. Through every challenge, he remained committed, knowing exactly what he wanted to achieve.
Looking back, earning his U.S. veterinary license serves as a reminder that persistence and determination can turn ambitious goals into reality.
Finding a Home at Hannah
Dr. Armando joined Hannah Pet Hospital a little over two years ago after applying for an open position. What began as a career opportunity quickly became one of the best professional decisions he’s ever made.
Working alongside talented veterinarians and Team Members has helped him grow not only as a clinician but as a person. More importantly, he found something that makes Hannah special: a Team united by a shared commitment to providing exceptional care.
“The friendships I’ve built here create a positive and supportive environment that I truly enjoy being part of.”
Caring for Every Patient
As a veterinarian, Dr. Armando approaches every appointment with the same goal: providing thorough, compassionate, and high-quality medical care.
From performing complete physical examinations and developing treatment plans to managing complex medical cases and performing surgery, every decision is guided by one question:
“What is in the best interest of this Pet?”
He believes that excellent veterinary medicine goes beyond diagnosing illness. It also means helping both Pets and their families feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their journey.
One of the most rewarding parts of his job is seeing a sick or frightened Pet return home healthy and comfortable.
“Seeing the relief and gratitude on an owner’s face makes all the hard work worth it.”
A Passion That Started Early
Long before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Armando grew up surrounded by dogs.
His father raised working Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds, and those early experiences sparked a fascination with canine behavior and communication.
The more time he spent around dogs, the more he knew veterinary medicine was the path he wanted to pursue.
That childhood passion has never faded.
Today, he still enjoys learning about animal behavior and continues expanding his knowledge because he believes veterinary medicine is always evolving.
Life Outside the Hospital
When he’s away from the hospital, Dr. Armando enjoys staying active through running, cycling, hiking, and spending time outdoors with his dogs.
He also enjoys reading, playing musical instruments, and continuing his education whenever possible.
His love of learning extends well beyond the exam room and reflects his commitment to providing the highest standard of care for every patient.
Meet Nuni & Toa
Dr. Armando shares his hoe with two Xoloitzcuintles (Mexican Hairless Dogs): Nuni and Toa.
Although they’re the same breed, they couldn’t be more different.
Toa is affectionate, energetic, and full of personality, while Nuni is calm, independent, and confident.
Living with both has reinforced one of the most important lessons in veterinary medicine:
Every dog is unique.
Their different personalities have helped shape Dr. Armando into the veterinarian he is today by teaching him patience, observation, adaptability, and the importance of understanding each Pet as an individual.
We’re grateful to have Dr. Armando as part of the Hannah Team and congratulate him on earning his U.S. veterinary license. His dedication to his profession, his patients, and their families is evident every day, and we’re excited to see all that he’ll continue to accomplish.
